We’ve been working with Fortius across a series of projects that strengthen their position as one of the UK’s leading providers of orthopaedic, sports injury and specialist clinical care. Each brief has been different, but the aim has been the same: create modern, intuitive and welcoming healthcare environments that support clinical excellence and put patient experience first. From major surgical facilities to diagnostics, treatment centres and clinic refurbishments, our work has helped Fortius expand their offer and improve care pathways across London.
Fortius Surgical Centre, London
Set behind a beautifully retained Georgian façade in the heart of London’s Marylebone medical district, this new surgical centre gives Fortius patients and clinical teams a calm, modern and highly efficient place for treatment. The centre strengthens Fortius’ reputation as a leader in orthopaedics and sports injury care, bringing advanced surgical capability together with a warm, noninstitutional environment.
We designed three state-of-the-art operating theatres equipped with ultraclean ventilation and fully integrated INSIGHT technologies, enabling seamless use of CT diagnostics during procedures. As a recognised FIFA Centre of Excellence, the centre supports world-class sports medicine and specialist interventions.
Across two floors, we planned the layout to optimise clinical flows, reduce travel distances and make every step intuitive for staff and patients. Alongside the theatres, the centre includes a dedicated 12bed ward and interventional radiology capability to support a broad range of treatments and patient pathways, all creating a calm, reassuring atmosphere from arrival through to recovery.
Fortius & Affidea Wimbledon, Wimbledon Quarter
We led the architectural design and coordination for the new Affidea and Fortius Hospital in Wimbledon, successfully transforming an unused floor within the Wimbledon Quarter shopping centre into a fully functioning clinical environment.
The fit‑out delivers two state‑of‑the‑art operating theatres and a comprehensive suite of imaging facilities—including CT, MRI, and X‑Ray—alongside an endoscopy area and a post‑anaesthesia care unit. Day recovery spaces, physiotherapy areas and a series of consulting rooms are arranged within the plan, with waiting areas and essential operational zones seamlessly integrated throughout.
A key part of the project was shaping a coherent, high‑performing clinical setting within a challenging existing shell. Working closely with project partners, we delivered a space that enhances patient comfort, supports efficient clinical pathways and reflects Fortius’ commitment to exceptional care.
Fortius Clinic Wimbledon, Diagnostic and Treatment Centre
Working closely with Fortius’ client team, we designed a contemporary diagnostic and treatment centre that brings together the latest imaging technology with an elegant and welcoming interior.
The clinic includes advanced imaging suites and a spacious reception area designed to reflect the high aspirations of the Fortius brand. Every detail—from materials to lighting—aims to create a positive first impression and make the space feel both professional and human.
Fortius Clinic City, Marylebone Clinic
At the Fortius Marylebone Clinic, we’ve delivered a series of improvements to enhance patient experience and expand specialist capacity. This recent package of works includes a new reception area, additional consulting and exam rooms, an upgraded diagnostics centre, and an extra operating theatre with a VIP suite.
The result is a more flexible and better connected clinical environment, supporting both higher patient volumes and more complex care pathways.
Our ongoing work with Fortius spans major surgical hubs, advanced diagnostic centres, specialist treatment spaces and clinic refurbishments across London. Each project has presented its own challenges, whether integrating new technology, repurposing existing buildings or designing spaces that support complex clinical workflows.
